Polish students combat social exclusion of the disabled. Increasingly often, innovative projects are launched at schools
Inventiveness is not the exclusive domain of start-ups or large corporations - more and more frequently, innovative projects are devised even by secondary school students. They construct equipment and design applications not only for fun – often, they are inspired by higher objectives, such as removing barriers. It is upper-secondary school students who invented such objects as a smart GPS vest which recognises objects in the way of a visually impaired person, a Braille reader with a speech synthesizer, or an inductive loop for people with hearing impairment. An increasing number of brilliant inventions in the service of mankind are introduced by the youngest generations.

The salaries of Polish teachers are among the lowest in Europe. The April pay rises will not change this
Poland is far behind in terms of teacher salaries not only in comparison to affluent European countries but also to our closest neighbours. The pay rises introduced in April will not change the situation. More than 99 percent of teachers will receive an average pay rise of 5.35 percent, i.e. from PLN 95 to 168 depending on their professional rank. In annual terms, the rise will amount to 3.75 percent, which, adjusting for inflation, is 1.45 percent. This is a much lower growth rate than that recorded for wages and salaries in the economy as a whole,” ZNP’s President Sławomir Broniarz emphasised.

Only one in three children in Poland get pocket money. The lack of financial education leads to bad habits in the future
Most parents do not include their children in money-related discussions and home budget planning, and only one in three children get pocket money. Meanwhile, giving children even low amounts on a regular basis can become a good lesson for them on how to manage their own money. When it comes to older children, as highlighted by a specialist from Goodwill Consulting, it is worth replacing the piggy bank with a simple bank account to show the child in practice what saving is all about and how the accumulated capital is increased by interest.
